ABOUT ME

IN MOTION.
Artist, traveler and dancer, I find inspiration in the people I meet and the movement I witness.
My passion for movement and rhythm translate into an interest in capturing unusual, contorted poses in my portraits. I enjoy evoking motion or the desire for impending action. I am particularly drawn to the technique of foreshortening—representing an object in depth. My paintings often incorporate an element of ambiguity—in movement, in expression, in emotion. I like to blur the delimitation between contrasting emotions to stir the viewer into his own interpretation.
The theme of motion is present both in my paintings and my life. I need to dance, to move, to travel. In the various cities I have visited, I’ve captured different plays of light, powerful shadows, sun-rays trapped between two shapes. I am attracted by the impressions created by the changing light at sunset.
